KYC

Know Your Customer rules require users to submit identity information such as passports, selfies, addresses, or phone numbers before accessing a service.

Requirements tier upward: phone or email, then government ID, then proof of address, selfies, and liveness checks. Each tier creates a durable identity archive at the service, subject to breach, sale in bankruptcy, and legal process.

Directory records track what each service demands and at what threshold, because the difference between none, light, and full KYC is the difference in what exists to be exposed later.
