Corrections and retractions
The policy and public record for material errors.
If a claim is wrong, the correction belongs where readers found the claim and in this log. A quiet rewrite is not enough.
Correction policy
A material factual error is corrected in place as soon as it can be checked. The corrected page states what was wrong, what replaced it, the date, and the source that supports the replacement. The same change is added to the public log below. Spelling, formatting, and other changes that do not alter meaning are not logged as factual corrections.
New information is an update, not a correction, when the earlier account was accurate against the records available at the time. Material updates still carry a review date and, where the public meaning changed, a visible revision note.
Retraction policy
Cunicula retracts a claim or page when its central premise cannot be supported, when the evidence was materially misread, or when a correction cannot make the original presentation accurate. The route remains public with a retraction notice and explanation unless leaving the underlying material online would create a legal or safety risk. A retraction is never silently deleted from this log.
A correction can itself be corrected or retracted. The later entry links the earlier one so the chain stays visible rather than being rewritten into a false appearance of certainty.
Automation and generated output
The same policy applies to machine-generated, assisted, or automatically published material. A log entry must identify that origin; automation is not a reason to lower the correction standard. Cunicula's current incident automation files leads for editorial review and does not publish them directly. If an automated publishing path is introduced, its corrections will appear in this log under the same rules.
Report an error
Send the page URL, the disputed sentence or field, and the strongest available source to [email protected]. A provider can dispute a record, but a request is not evidence on its own. The correction follows the record, not the identity of the requester.
Reproducibility status
- Recomputable scores: available. The executable formula, normalized raw inputs, computation timestamp, and factor rules are public.
- Signed dataset releases: available. The first point-in-time dataset and scoring source are signed with Ed25519. The public key, key fingerprint, checksums, detached signature, and exact verification commands are on the methodology page.
- Per-record edit history: available. Provider pages and detail API records expose what changed, when, why, and the source revision. Scope and exclusions are documented under per-record edit history.
Public log
This log begins with material corrections identifiable in the current public record. It does not pretend to reconstruct every ordinary copy edit made before 9 August 2026. From this policy's publication, every material factual correction and retraction is recorded here.
· Method correction
The scoring method removed duplicate KYC deductions, then separated privacy from evidence and stopped recorded risk from changing either number. The prior combined-score model was replaced rather than presented as comparable history. See methodology changes.
· Method correction
Operator-jurisdiction deductions had been applied to local software and protocols with no hosted operator data. The deduction was removed for those records. See methodology changes.
· Retraction and replacement
An earlier correction said Monero had not traded at $687. That correction was wrong and was withdrawn. The replacement records exchange and aggregate market data showing trades near $800 on 14 January 2026. Read the replacement correction.
· Provider correction
An unsupported claim connecting Silent.link to Jack Dorsey was removed. The current record states that no connection was found. See the Silent.link page.
