Multisig

A wallet setup that requires multiple private keys or approvals to move funds, reducing single-key failure and helping distribute operational risk.

Requiring m-of-n keys removes single points of failure: one lost or seized key does not move funds. Setups distribute keys across devices, people, or jurisdictions, and inheritance and organizational treasuries are the common uses.

The costs are coordination and visibility: on transparent chains multisig spends are distinguishable from ordinary ones, which fingerprints the wallet type, and recovery planning becomes a process rather than a phrase.
